After some horror stories and seeing all the news reports on identity fraud I am wondering what your best tips and practices are in avoiding identity fraud.

Please note:
There is no cost to you if your identity is stolen.
These commericials are making a fortune by scaring people.
When you are victim, you simply report it and the charges will be removed.
The most money out of pocket a phone call, maybe some stamps.
If you are still worried, you can put a freeze on all your accounts.
You can do this by going to annualcreditreport.com
First you check all all reports (after printing them out).
Find the section to put a freeze on your reports – about 4 bucks per report.
When you need a loan, you will have to unfreeze by calling a number and entering a pin.
