March 31, 2010 Grace’s spinal cord surgery. Part 10: Our 3 yr old daughter Grace had a neural tube defect known as tethered cord syndrome. Dr. Hal Meltzer @ Rady’s Childeren’s Hospital in San Diego, Ca. preformed the surgery to free her spinal cord. This is after 2 1/2 hrs. of surgery to “de-tether” her spinal cord.
